Chip Repair Guide

There are several factors that govern whether a car windscreen can be repaired, the main factor being whether or not there is a chip or crack, how large the chip or star pattern is and on which part of the windscreen it has occurred? 
● If the stone chip, such as a starburst chip, is on the driver’s side and is no larger than the diameter of a 5 cent coin – in other words a 5 cent coin would fully cover it including any minor cracking or starring, then the windscreen can be repaired.
● If the chip has occurred on the passenger side, a 10 cent coin must fully cover it.

Cracked Windscreen

A crack through the windscreen is deemed unrepairable and will require a new one to be installed . One of our professional, mobile glass fitters will be happy able to assist you at a time and place that suits you.
